Ms. Kay Menzies

Ms. Kay Menzies is the Managing Director of Karl H. Menzies Company Ltd.

A distribution company with two divisions:

The Beverage Division specializes in wines & spirits while Surface Solutions carries an assortment of coatings and paint accessories for home, auto and industrial purposes. This company was started in 1969 by Kay’s parents Mr. Karl. H. Menzies, a Belizean icon, known for his contribution to several community development projects and his progressive business strategies, while Mrs. Dorothy Menzies, a former nurse, devoted her energies to the business and to the Dorothy Menzies Child Center for abused and abandoned children. Ms. Menzies grew up around the family business observing and learning from her parents and always actively finding her ways to contribute to Belize’s development.

 Today, Kay is one of the leading voices in the sustainable development of Belize through her work at the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) where she served as the president for two consecutive terms and remains active as a past president. She has also contributed significantly to several national working committees such as the Tax Reform Steering Committee, Customs Modernization & Reform Project Steering Committee, National Health Insurance Committee and the Horizon 2030 Steering Committee. Kay is currently one of the directors representing Fortis Inc. on the Belize Electricity Limited board.

Her past accomplishments include, serving as a director on the Development Finance Corporation Board, administrative chairman on the Beltraide board and chairman of the board of directors for the Belize Port Authority. Ms. Menzies is an active contributor to social causes and programs such as the Rotary Club of Belize of which she is a Past President and has been accredited as a Prosperity Honorary Consul of Great Britain. Ms. Menzies holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Loyola University, New Orleans, Louisiana. Kay continues to contribute meaningfully to Belize’s private sector development and firmly believes that Belize’s full potential can be realized if everyone contributes and works in partnership.
