Alexia Peralta is a Projects Officer whose core duties include project management administration, stakeholder engagement and technical support for project implementation and policy reform geared towards improving the ease of Doing Business in Belize. Additionally, she brings a wealth of experience in the fields of sustainable development and management of Belize’s natural resources. She previously worked at the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation as a Tourism Investment Officer where she obtained valuable skills in business planning, project design, data analysis using Geographic Information System and drafting of technical and policy documents while supporting the implementation of Tourism National Investment agenda and facilitating private sector and multilateral funding dialogue. Alexia brings practical Tourism Industry experience having led the project design and implementation of the first Tourism Consumption Study in collaboration with the Agriculture Sector in an effort to stimulate local production, retaining tourism earnings in the country, and improving the distribution of tourism beneﬁts to rural people/communities. She also has prior experience in the private-sector working in the Business Process Outsourcing Sector. Alexia graduated from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago with a First Class Honors in BSc. Economics and Finance as the recipient of the 2013 UWI Open Scholarship. Outside of her regular work routine, she is an executive member of Rotaract Club of Orange Walk with the aim to assist in the social and economic development of her community. She is passionate about sustainable development, education reform, MSME development and data analytics.
