Business Associations

The Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is the largest private sector membership based organization in Belize. Founded in 1920, the Chamber has been consistently championing the causes of its private sector constituency and considers among its primary objectives the social and economic development of Belize through the development of all sectors of industry and commerce. Additionally, since 1997, the Chamber is the only recognized “Employers Organization” in Belize under the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) tri-partite social partnership.

BTIA is governed by a Board of Directors and is managed by a small secretariat.

The association has an established Strategic Plan. In addition to its Executive Committee of six officers (President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Director and the Immediate Past President as an ex-officio member), the association’s board of directors includes representatives from ten established tourism destinations countrywide: Ambergris Caye, Belize, Corozal, Caye Caulker, Cayo, Dangriga, Hopkins, Orange Walk, Placencia and Toledo.

The BCSP is an alliance of service sector organizations and associations that functions as a lobby and channel for addressing economic development issues and trade-in-services issues that impact the services sector. The BCSP was established to help the services sector stakeholders advocate for the creation of an enabling environment which will allow the Belizean services sector to survive in the competitive, global marketplace and meet the challenges encountered in exporting their services.
