Ishmael Quiroz

Executive Director

Mr. Ishmael Quiroz brings over 13 years of professional experience spanning a broad range of fields and areas of expertise including: operations management, corporate governance, project design and implementation, strategy formulation and socio-economic development from international, public and private-sector perspectives.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Corporate Management from Anglia Ruskin University in Essex, England, United Kingdom and a Master of Science degree in Economics from Galen University, Belize.

 

 

Carmen Sosa

Project Coordinator

Carmen Sosa grew up in the Cayo District where she attended primary, secondary and junior college. She is a very experienced project management professional with a Master of Laws degree in International Corporate Governance, Financial Regulation and Economic Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance. Carmen has worked in the Public Sector for many years where she obtained key skills and knowledge such as research, business development and communication. She is passionate about economic development in the public and private sector.

Carmen currently works for the Government of Belize as the Project Coordinator for the Public Private Desk where her core responsibilities include project monitoring, stakeholder engagement, resource optimization and risk management. Her areas of interest include implementing innovative and progressive interventions for communities.

Keyla Magaña

Project Officer

Keyla Magaña is the Project Officer in the Public – Private Desk (PPD) whose core duties include project management administration, policy advice, risk assessment, program planning and implementation, research and analysis, provision of advice in national development issues relevant to the EDC’s objectives. She serves as a liaison for the EDC Secretariat for projects submitted by Ministries and agencies for consideration for Business Climate improvement.

She brings a wealth of experience in various complementary fields, most notably in local economic development, MSME support, project management, and urban planning. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, and a Master degree in Project Management from la Universidad de Cooperación Internacional. She is a Certified Green Project Manager (GPM-b™).

Keyla is a solution driven person passionate about the development of her country.

Marta

Administration and Communications Officer

Marta is the Administration and Communications Officer with main responsibility for communications management, stakeholder engagement support and administrative support for office, project and reform activities implemented by the Public-Private Desk, OPM, Secretariat to the EDC.  She holds a Master’s Degree (MA) in Mass Communications from the University of Leicester and other academic accomplishments.

Her experience includes many years of administration, mass communication, small business management and customer support. Her work experience in the media, statutory bodies, private sector, local government and with UN organizations adds versatile value to the various reform, legislative, and economic activity interventions.

She is passionate about national development and environmental consciousness.
