Marta is the Administration and Communications Officer at the Economic Development Council (EDC) Secretariat, bringing more than two decades of professional experience supporting public institutions, international organizations, and private sector initiatives. Her career spans both national and international environments, where she has contributed to organizational management, strategic communications, and development‑oriented reform work in multicultural and policy‑driven settings.
In administration, Ms. Hendrikx has extensive experience in office and program management, human resource and financial coordination, procurement, and institutional systems development. She has held senior administrative and management roles within statutory bodies and national organizations, supporting boards and executive leadership, overseeing programs and projects, and contributing to organizational reform processes. Her background enables her to ensure strong internal operations and effective administrative support to the EDC Secretariat’s leadership and technical work.
In communications, she brings specialized expertise grounded in both national and international practice. She holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communications and has led communications strategy development, digital platform management, stakeholder engagement, media production, and event coordination, including with the United Nations Development Programme and other international entities. Fluent in English and Spanish, with intermediate proficiency in Dutch and French, she supports inclusive engagement and clear, consistent messaging that strengthens public‑private dialogue and advances Belize’s economic development priorities.
